THE POTENTIAL
Any new centre has the potential to offer a significant increase in the health and wellbeing services available locally. These would be housed in purpose-built, state of the art, premises with full disability access.
It would bring many benefits including:
- Purpose built, state of the art, facilities
- Greater capacity
- Expanded facilities which could include:
Testing/diagnostic services
Physiotherapy
Minor surgery unit
Wider range of outpatient clinics
Integrated working with Social Care & Mental Health services
- Extended opening hours created by consolidating staff from the current three separate sites
- Better car parking
- A central location close to public transport
- Potential to include step-down beds thereby facilitating rapid hospital discharges so freeing up acute beds at Macclesfield, and other, local hospitals
Having more services available locally reduces the time, cost and climate impact of having to travel to towns such as Macclesfield, Chester and Congleton for consultations, treatment and tests.
